I am about to start The Lost Stories by John Flanagan. the book is made up of short stories that fill in a lot of detail through the Ranger Apprentice series. I hope that it'll be worth reading but I feel that ill have to fight through it to finish it and it'll be boring. I think this because of a couple reasons. first I have read other books like this and they where really bad. Also what I like about his writing he cant do in a few chapter which will limit how good the book can be. I hope that it'll turn out to a good read but I feel that it'll be a fight to get through.

This seems like an interesting concept for a book. I have seen TV shows like Lost do something like this where they fill in missing details. But like you mentioned, the lack of a constant and consistent plot could fail to reel in a reader.
