Ranger's Apprentice Book 10

I have been reading the book The Emperor of Nihon-Ja by John Flanagan which is the 10th book in the Ranger apprentice series. I have read almost 11 books by him all of the them fantastic. the thing I like the most about his book is that he doesn't take along to get into the plot and conflict of the story and in the first couple of pages he has action and a good plot set up for the rest of the book.

In the book I reading by Flanagan has a good medieval plot where a ban of rebels try to over throw the emperor of Nihon-Ja. In the first few chapters he establishes the conflict. He has one of the main character visiting the emperor when he is told that the emperor cousin is rebelling against him because he believes he should have the power. When Horace has to leave the emperor comes with them and while they are riding to the port where Horace will leave Nihon-Ja they get ambushed by some rebels. Then the Main character gets news that Horace goes missing and then the story begin where he and  another ranger and his friend (which every typical hero story always has his friends with him) sets out to find his friend.

I think that it was a great introduction to the story and has the reader hooked right away. I love how John Flanagan starts all of his story and I think a lot of writer could use his format.
